FS 16 (Jacks River Road)

The primary access road to the Jacks River watershed trailheads. Gravel road requiring high-clearance vehicle. Rough in places and not recommended for low-clearance vehicles.

Seasonal closure: May be closed during wet weather or after significant rainfall. High-clearance vehicle strongly recommended year-round.

FS 18 (Cohutta Road)

Connects US-411 to the eastern Cohutta trailheads and the Lake Conasauga Recreation Area. Paved to the recreation area entrance.

Seasonal closure: The Lake Conasauga Recreation Area road may be closed in winter. The lower section remains open year-round.

FS 51 (Beech Bottom Road)

Access road to the Beech Bottom and Hemp Top trailheads in the Jacks River watershed. Very rough gravel road requiring high-clearance vehicle.

Seasonal closure: Frequently closed after rain or during wet seasons. High-clearance 4WD recommended. Check road conditions before travel.

FS 630 (CCC Camp Road)

The primary access road to the Conasauga watershed trailheads. Paved from US-411 to the national forest boundary, then gravel. Generally passable by standard vehicles in dry conditions.

Seasonal closure: The upper section (above the national forest boundary) may be gated during winter months. Check with the Cohutta Ranger District for current status.
